Nemesis

In the bustling streets of New York City, especially the vibrant borough of Queens, arises Nemz, an artist short for Nemesis. With playful aliases like Nemzoid and Nemzilla, he seamlessly blends traditional art with urban expressions, creating a unique niche for himself in the world of art. From a tender age of five, Nemz started sketching his favorite heroes, such as Batman and Spider-man. This early passion was a hint of the multifaceted artist he was destined to become.

His inspirations are vast and varied. From music, fashion, art, to nature, friends, and peers, even the simplest things spark a creative outburst in him. He treasures his art deeply, and while some of it has commercial intent, many of his abstract pieces remain personal treasures, gradually being unveiled to the world.

A defining moment in Nemz's artistic journey was when, at just 12, he painted a 12-foot scene of George Washington crossing the Delaware. This artwork didn't just solidify his belief in his craft but also became a pivotal part of his application to the esteemed LaGuardia Performing Arts H.S.

Having sold his art since 2013, Nemz ventured into showcasing his masterpieces in galleries only in recent years. A man of mystery, his day job intertwines with production, arts, and experiential marketing, but the specifics are his secret. Beyond painting, Nemz has a deep-rooted interest in typography and calligraphy, stemming from his fascination with handwriting and letter structure. His 22-year graffiti journey showcases his versatility, which is evident in his murals, designs, and graffiti pieces. Collaborations with renowned platforms like Mass Appeal magazine highlight his significant influence in the art community.

The graffiti journey for Nemz started 22 years ago with a simple spray can. Those days of gazing out of the A train window laid the foundation for his graffiti aspirations. Inspired by his peers and the graffiti pioneers, he aspired to express himself in every nook and cranny of the city. Over the years, while the wild spirit of his younger days might have mellowed, his hunger for art remains insatiable. He now aspires to travel and paint across cities worldwide, using graffiti as a unique language of urban subculture.

For Nemz, the essence of being an artist lies in the freedom it offers. Through art, he finds a voice, a medium to express suppressed emotions, and a chance to create something that resonates with many. He believes that while everyone's time is finite, through art, a part of the artist can achieve immortality.

Nemz doesn’t view art as a competition. Instead, he competes with himself, pushing boundaries with each creation. He believes in evolution, striving to do better with each piece. As he continues to paint his legacy, the world watches in anticipation, eager to witness the next chapter in the artistic journey of this titan from Queens.
